During the Salesforce Basecamp in Düsseldorf, along with 2.000 customers, partners and other trailblazers, Deloitte Digital kicked off the below use case for the public. The intention of the use case, the business rational and the technical implementation were featured on the partner stage. Our rockstar-staffed booth hosted deep dive sessions for both our use case, and the technical implementation of Salesforce and Deloitte Digital’s accelerator for the manufacturing Industry, Cloud4M.

The Insight

Meier Pumpen Düsseldorf (MPD), a fictional company that is a leader in the manufacturing of pumps used in the brewing industry, has come under pressure recently as new competitors arise. Therefore, they must adapt and go through a radical change - going from a traditional manufacturer to an as-a-service company.

The Process

The change is enabled by a new technology stack. MPD's pumps become smart and constantly send their status to a device IoT cloud. Here, an analysis determines the likelihood the pump might fail – and when a certain threshold is reached, Salesforce is notified. The CRM is enhanced with Cloud4M – Deloitte Digital’s accelerator for the manufacturing industry. Based on the IoT, input cases are created and automatically routed. The agent then uses real-time data, historic events and automatic knowledge to resolve it.
